Our focus is on using scientific and quantitative analysis, to give organisations the robust meaningful tools, conclusions and evidence, to help them make the decisions they need.

We are independent of any political affiliation, and guided by sound scientific principles and relevant evidence.
Dr Savas Hadjipavlou – Director
Savas is the founding Director of Justice Episteme. Between 2014 to 2016 he was a founding Director and Chief Executive of the Probation Institute, which formed as an independent professional body for probation and community justice workers.
From 2011 to 2014 he was Chief Executive of the Probation Chiefs Association. As a former senior civil servant in the Ministry of Justice, Department of Health and Home Office, he has an extensive background in justice and health policy, and in service development. He has, in particular, led policy and service reforms in the provision of health services for offenders and their integration into the National Health Service.  Savas was educated as a scientist and holds a DPhil from Oxford University.
Maria Orenbuch MSci, MRes – Data Analytics and Operations Manager
Maria joined Justice Episteme in 2021, following 11 years in Risk Management at the Lloyd’s and London insurance markets where she specialised in risk and scenario analysis, capital and governance assessments and ran a corresponding range of project initiatives. From 2005 to 2010, Maria worked for Deloitte LLP and supported firms across banking, insurance and media with their business transformation objectives that ranged from business case formulation and process development, to post-merger planning and project management. Maria has a degree in Chemistry and a Masters in Nanotechnology from Imperial College London having specialised in computational simulations.
